Aeronautical Engineering

rsz 1delft 2012 mvz 16

Aeronautical engineering is about the research, design, development, construction, testing, science and technology of aircraft. In recent years, aeronautical engineering has become one of the major overlapping branches of aerospace engineering. The four-year Aeronautical Engineering programme focuses on designing and constructing aircraft and aircraft components. You will learn about engineering in general and you will gain practical experience during your internship. If you are fascinated by the history and methodology behind moving machines, aeronautical engineering is the programme for you.

There are two components to the bachelor's degree programme in Aeronautical Engineering at Inholland: the major and the specialisations. The major is the core of the programme and will account for half of your studies. This is where you will acquire your general professional knowledge and skills. The specialisations will allow you to tailor the final two years of your programme to your personal interests and ambitions.

In the first year of study, you will take several technical subjects. You will also enjoy an introduction to the field of aeronautical engineering through special projects, classes, practical assignments and excursions. You will work together in small, intercultural teams to solve complex problems, whilst you also train your independent reporting skills. Later in the programme, the emphasis will be on gaining an in-depth knowledge of specialist aeronautical engineering subjects.
