Knowledge Engineering is a three-year bachelor's program in English at Maastricht University.
In the Knowledge Engineering bachelor's programme, you develop solutions to knowledge problems by collecting, adjusting and enriching information using: computer science, with an emphasis on software, programming, algorithms and logic; applied mathematics, including the practical application of major mathematical concepts, methods and techniques; artificial intelligence, including ways to reason using available knowledge and an introduction to machine learning and intelligent search
The programme gives you a solid basis in mathematics and computer science. You will also take practical courses, such as: financial and industrial mathematics; cognitive psychology; logic; philosophy of science
Knowledge Engineering differs from traditional computer science or math programs because it uses Project-Centred Learning (PCL). In this program, you will have case studies, real-life projects in small groups and will apply the lessons learned in practice.
