Physicists and astronomers at Radboud University are recognized worldwide. They attract the attention of amazing discoveries from the origin of cosmic particles to magnetism with light. You can work on theoretical and experimental physical properties of new materials such as graphene nano and molecular scale. This study was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010.
In this Master's program you can choose between three specializations:
Neuroscience: Students approach neurobiological research questions from either a human physiology, molecular, neurophysics or neuroinformatics point of view by directly studying human subjects or through application of cell and animal models and a wide variety of fundamental, quantitative and medical research tools.
Students will specialize during their internship, together with researchers from the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. The Institute is the largest inter-faculty Institute Radboud University and covers the full range of research "from molecule to man" and trying to understand the mind and the brain: 100000000000 neurons with 100,000 km relations between them, with a storage capacity exceeding that of supercomputer. The internship has a strong multidisciplinary character - students from different fields work together with biologists, chemists, physicists, doctors and social scientists at the Institute Donders
Physics of Molecules and Materials: The Specialization Physics of Molecules and Materials enable you to work and study at the site where the groundbreaking research in graphene originated (Nobel Prize for Physics 2010). This is also the place where the most powerful continuous magnetic fields of the world are generated, and where you can study Spectroscopy of Solids and Interfaces with a Spinoza Price winner.
Particle and Astrophysics: If you decide to study Particle and Astrophysics, you will be associated with the Institute of Mathematics, Astrophysics and Particle Physics. In addition to disciplinary areas, IMAPP fosters research that connects these areas such as mathematical physics and astroparticle physics.
Physics and Astronomy program offers the possibility of master tracks that can be combined with the above mentioned specialties. The master tracks are: Science in Society and Science, Management and Innovation.
Science in Society: Contemporary societies are facing major challenges. This demands experts with a background in science and understanding of social practices, experts who have been trained to work in interdisciplinary teams.
Science, Management and Innovation: Choosing this master track you will get knowledge of that how government and business cooperate together in order innovation.
In the end the student has to make a project.

Possible careers: Graduates are able to deal with various problems. They have excellent analytical skills. Three months after completion they fail to be implemented in different companies like Philips. MBA is a good basis for further research and doctorate respectively.
